College Preparation

The college has two college readiness programs. One is for students who need college readiness. The other is for students who need a high school equivalency diploma and GED.

Students in Need of College Readiness

Students that do not score well on the readiness and behavioral assessments are determined to be non-college ready. They are sent a College Readiness letter informing them of the required College Readiness program, which includes how to access the college learning portal, with credentials to login, their welcome kit and College Readiness program information. Student receive the following details:

  • Student Credentials
  • OLC Portal URL
  • SO100 OLC Portal Frontend
  • SO101 OLC Portal Backend for Students
  • College Readiness Requirements

Note: students are only required to complete the college readiness eCourses for which they did not successfully pass the assessment.

Students must retake the readiness assessments that they did not successfully complete the first time, after complete of the program. Upon receiving a successful score students are prepared to advance onward to Student Orientation.

Students in Need of High School Equivalency

Students that do not hold a high school diploma or GED are automatically determined to be non-college ready. They are sent a High School Equivalency (HSE) letter informing them of the additional requirement to complete the HSE program, which includes how to access the college learning portal, with credentials to login, their welcome kit and HSE program information. Students receive the following:
