Which is more important to the advancement of sustainability of life on planet Earth technological or human innovation? Why? (250 words)

While technological innovation can prove quite useful, and has done so many times over, without human innovation life as we know it will cease to exist.

If people do not actively seek to educate themselves, they will stagnate. We have a responsibility to ourselves and to each other to be our best selves. This means that we must constantly seek to improve ourselves. We must be life-long learners.

Without human innovation, the technological innovations that move society forward would cease. There would be no further technological innovations.

Joan is a web designer. She prides herself on being a life-long learner and takes recurring courses in web design, core PHP programming, and application development in order to keep her professional knowledge and skills updated. This allows her to be technologically innovative and create a mobile app to bring sales training to businesses to train their sales forces for a fraction of the cost of doing live training workshops. This creates a significant positive impact on the budgets of these businesses.

Amanda devotes significant time each day to personal development, including the study of personal and project leadership. This constant human innovation allows her to author books and develop trainings. These books and trainings are technological innovations that allow individuals and businesses to further their personal and professional development.

These are only two examples of why I believe that human innovation is vital to the sustainability of human life.

      Unlocking Creative Power

If we used our own individual creative capacity to develop change, our global connection would be invaluable. The creative power of multiple minds brings forth change that is necessary for human development across the world, through the concept of globalization. Through globalization all nations are connected into one learning environment and afforded the same learning opportunities. Through these cultural experiences and connections, innate creativity will be cultivated in the minds of students by connecting various cultural experiences, which will create a conducive and diverse learning environment for all students.

        Hello, Monique.

I am in full agreement that the creative power of multiple minds is essential for human development on a global basis. Your idea that we can globalize education, connecting all nations into one learning environment is intriguing. I would love for you to elaborate on this. How can we accomplish something like this? What are some specific examples you can share? In thinking about what we are accomplishing through OT Academy, would OT Academy provide the vehicle for globalizing education?

This is certainly an intriguing thought to pursue in further discussion. Please respond and let’s keep this discussion going.
